This cry rings truest in the indie part of travel because no other sector relies more on the human touch than the independents and creatives who power the heart of the travel experience, from unique accommodation and stays to local authentic tours, activities and experiences.
In a world of industry consolidation, tech acceleration and product commoditization, indies have to dial up their human superpowers while embracing tech – to be more personal, authentic and imaginative in the age of AI, to earn and keep customer trust, and to learn from the age of scarcity to do more with less.
It’s time for indies to harness the power of technology for the greater good of travel.
