There’s all sorts of machinations, fragmentation and consolidation happening in distribution, marketing and tech throughout the value chain. And new traveller tribes are seeking experiences beyond the ordinary.

The Next Generation is about grasping all of that, as well as honouring this moment in travel’s history, this split in dimension, when we have to move forward, guided by but unfettered by the past, to create an industry for the Next Generation of travellers, talent and leaders.

ABOUT WiT AFRICA

WiT Africa 2024 Highlights

WiT Africa was first launched as a virtual edition in 2021 to form a bridge between Africa and Asia, to share lessons and best practices across regions.

In 2024, WiT Africa was launched as a physical event, in partnership with Innovation City and Travelstart, to further strengthen that bridge between Africa, Asia and the rest of the world to unearth and share the latest innovations and trends happening in travel technology, distribution and marketing.

With Africa soon be the world’s biggest population at 1.72 billion by 2023 – and even more significant, 477 million of those will be young people, between 15 and 35 – it will without doubt rise to be a significant force shaping online travel.

WiT Africa 2024, held in Innovation City the beautiful city of Cape Town, featured the who’s who of Africa’s travel tech industry leaders as well as top travel minds from Asia and beyond.

It comprised a WiT Bootcamp on March 14, aimed at empowering startups and micro-businesses in digital, and a WiT Main Stage on March 15 that served as a platform for thought leaders to share insights and lessons and unearth opportunities for the future.

WiT Africa 2025 will be held March 12-13. A Next Generation Leaders Roundtable will be held March 12, while WiT Main Stage will be held March 13.
